US Air Force honors FREQUENTIS Brian Bruckbauer by renaming Airfield Operations Flight of the Year Award

  • U.S. Air Force (USAF) Airfield Operations Flight of the Year Award will be renamed to reference Brian Bruckbauer in 2025
  • The award will be renamed the USAF Brigadier General Brian R. Bruckbauer Airfield Operations Flight of the Year award
  • The award is considered the top USAF annual award for the ATC; airfield management; and radar, airfield, and weather systems career fields

The USAF Airfield Operations Flight of the Year award is presented annually for a combination of USAF air traffic control (ATC) and airfield management facilities for various achievements. 

Starting in 2025 the award will be known as “USAF Brigadier General Brian R. Bruckbauer Airfield Operations Flight of the Year award”. The award was renamed in recognition of Brian’s career accomplishments and in appreciation of his contributions to the advancement of USAF Airfield Operations. Brian Bruckbauer joined Frequentis on 1 April 2024 as President of Frequentis Defense Inc.

FREQUENTIS welcomes Karl Wannenmacher as new Chief Technology Officer to the Executive Board

Present CTO Hermann Mattanovich has chosen to step down from his position

From 1 July 2024, Karl Wannenmacher, currently Director of Public Safety Products at Frequentis, will lead the research and development (R&D) and technology activities of the Frequentis Group.

“In his 30 years at Frequentis, 15 of them as CTO, Hermann Mattanovich has played a key role in shaping the company's further development and achieving major technical milestones. Crucial Frequentis projects with a high demand for technologically innovative solutions greatly benefited from his enormous knowledge,” says Hannes Bardach, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Frequentis.

“I’m pleased to welcome Karl Wannenmacher to the Executive Board. With his vast software expertise, strategical approach, and entrepreneurial mindset he will contribute on top of our R&D organisation to further strengthening the Frequentis Group as a world-class technology provider. I wish him all the best for his new role,” says Norbert Haslacher, CEO Frequentis.

Sébastien Esteve and Mikhael Matar

FREQUENTIS appoints new Managing Director in France

After almost 40 years with Frequentis, ten of them as Managing Director of Frequentis France, Mikhael Matar has decided to retire. He will be succeeded by Sébastien Esteve.

“Mikhael Matar is responsible for the successful growth of Frequentis in France. In 2023 we won our largest global rail project, the nationwide communication system contract for French railway company SNCF. We would like to thank Mikhael for his long-standing commitment and great achievements and wish him all the best for his retirement,” says Frequentis CEO Norbert Haslacher. “We welcome Sébastien Esteve to Frequentis, who brings a profound level of expertise with sales and account management, handling large-scale IT projects and contracts in the aerospace business. We wish him every success in his role as Managing Director of Frequentis France”.

T-Systems has integrated a new management product from Frequentis into Dublin Airport's system to further enhance information flow, resource management, and passenger satisfaction.

FREQUENTIS: Order intake of half a billion euros for the first time

  • Revenues +10.8% to EUR 427.5 million
  • Order intake +24.7% to EUR 505 million
  • EBIT increased to EUR 27 million
  • Proposal to increase the dividend again to EUR 0.24

“We managed to increase revenues and order intake volumes in all segments. That is a tremendous success for our team. I would like to thank the 2,200 employees who work for Frequentis around the world for their commitment and contribution to this success,” said Frequentis CEO Norbert Haslacher.
