Flight
Plans Management
NEPTUNE manages flight plans (FPL) and repetitive flight plans
(RPL) for an ATC administration. NEPTUNE ensures the validity
of flight plans and their appropriate distribution among interested
users.
NEPTUNE facilitates the preparation of preflight information
bulletins (PIB) for departing flights. By maintaining a database
of both local and foreign flight plans, NEPTUNE can present
the status of all flights in the region, both en-route and
preparing to fly.
Features
• Supports entry and validation of Flight Plans
• Assist pilots in route selection • Redistributes Flight Plans
• Handles Repetitive Flight Plans
• Produces briefing based on Flight Plans (Automatic
or on Demand)
• Maintains & displays history of each Flight Plan
• Tracts flights and displays status
Flight Plan Database
NEPTUNE handles flight plans for an air traffic administration.
It maintains a database of all scheduled and active flight
plans and the associated ATS and slot allocation messages.
The database contains a complete history of each flight plan
including each ATS message that modifies or affects the flight
plan.
Flight Plan Entry and Validation
For local flight plans NEPTUNE strictly validates all received
flight plans. Flight plan can either be entered interactively
through the GUI or by the receipt of FPL messages from the
AFTN or AMHS networks.
Redistribution of Flight Plans
NEPTUNE ensures that each received flight plan is correctly
distributed to the parties who need to have a copy of the
flight plan. Foreign flight plans are distributed only within
the local ATC area. Local flight plan is redistributed to
each FIR and aerodrome facility that handles the flight. Redistribution
for repetitive flight plans is limited to local destination.
Handling of Repetitive Flight Plans
NEPTUNE maintains a local database of all Repetitive Flight
Plans that are defined by airway companies. These flight plans
are activated automatically at the designated flight time
as if the flight plan had been actually received. Schedules
define a time and one or more days of the week as well as
the date range when the flight plan is valid.
Briefing Based on Flight Plan (Automatic
or on-Demand)
NEPTUNE creates a Pre-Flight Information Bulletin (PIB) based
on the route defined in the flight plan. This required a close
integration with JUPITER (NOTAM Data Management). The user
can also ask NEPTUNE to create a briefing on demand for any
flight plan on file.
Flight Plan History and Status
NEPTUNE maintains a list of all active and pending flight
plans currently handled by the system. This list, which is
ordered by time, can be limited to incoming, outgoing, or
over flight operations or further restricted by departure
and destination aerodrome. The list shows the status of the
flight as determined by the receipt of ATS messages concerning
the flight, e.g. slot allocation messages, arrival reports,
and departure reports. |
