GWDI
IMPLEMENTS CIDIN OVER IP BETWEEN DENMARK AND GREENLAND
Monterey, California, USA, March 31, 2003.
GWDI announces that Naviair has accepted the commissioning
of GWDI CIDIN over IP between the countries of Denmark and
Greenland.
Naviair has been operating GWDI CIDIN System for almost 10
years. The system was based on X.25 communication links.
TCP/IP-based network are replacing X.25 network infrastructure
worldwide resulting in the latest announcements from X.25
equipment providers that they are exiting the X.25 marketplace.
Today, GWDI is offering a new CIDIN application that operates
over TCP/IP rather than using the X.25 communication infrastructure.
This new application was successfully tested in point to point
and triangle testing at Arlanda, Sweden in mid September 2002
and was witnessed by representatives from Denmark, Finland
and Sweden. Following the successful testing, Naviair
decided to implement this new application between the CIDIN
systems operating in Greenland and Copenhagen.
“We were very impressed to see that GWDI along with
Naviair engineers succeeded in commissioning the system in
a very short time frame. This upgrade will allow NAVIAIR
to greatly reduce the operational costs of the system”
said Mogens T. Nielsen, Project Manager at Naviair.
