For the past 4 years, GWDI and GCWare have established a strong partnership and have collaborated on a number of projects. With this acquisition, GWDI gains not only an experienced development team but also the intellectual property of the GCWare AIP/Charting Automation Solution.

The GCWare development team brings experience in mapping and GIS technologies. These technologies are extensively used in the new GWDI products. The GCWare AIP/Charting Automation solution enhances GWDI’s offering to the Air Navigation Services Providers (ANSP) market.

GWDI will use the new Prague office not only to expand its product development capabilities but also to pursue new customers in the region.

The transaction is backed by GWDI’s parent company, Cambridge Information Group (www.cambridgeinformationgroup.com). CIG is a holding company that controls a number of successful technology companies.

The combined GWDI/GCWare operation will further strengthen CIG’s interest in the aeronautical market. CIG is currently the largest shareholder of Navtech/EAG, a leading provider of flight operations services to the airlines.
