Conformance testing for AMHS ready systems is considered mandatory to verify that the AMHS implementation under test (IUT) adheres to a unified interpretation of formal standards and protocol specifications. Proven conformance to standards greatly reduces or eliminates the chance that incompatibilities will be discovered during interoperability testing among different implementations.

GWDI selected AC-B GmbH of Markdorf, Germany as its AMHS Conformance Test partner based on their state of the art Test Tool and Test Suite software as well as their extensive experience in the area of AMHS testing. The AC-B AMHS Test Tool was used for the production of input events and the monitoring of the resulting outputs from the GWDI system IUT. The main AMHS functional areas covered by conformance testing included:

• Submission Operations
• Delivery Operations
• Transfer Operations
• Gateway Operations (AMHS to AFTN and AFTN to AMHS)
• Naming and Addressing
• Transfer, Delivery and Handling of Non-Delivery Reports

The result of the Conformance Testing was that the GWDI Message Handling System successfully passed all the tests cases with the AC-B Test Tool with no exception. Mr. Jürgen Kammerer, General Manager at AC-B, complimented GWDI on the successful completion of all test cases during the first trial.

GWDI will now proceed to conduct Interoperability Testing between the GWDI Message Handling System installed for testing purpose at the Naviair facilities in Copenhagen, Denmark and the DFS AMHS system located in Langen, Germany.
