NAVIAIR CONTRACTS GWDI FOR NEW GRIB DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM

Monterey, California, USA, September 29, 2005.

GWDI announces that Naviair has contracted GWDI for the implementation of a new system supporting the acquisition of binary meteorological data from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI).

DMI has recently changed the data delivery procedures for GRIB data making the data only available as a download through the Internet.  The DATMAS Air Traffic Management System supplied by Thales ATM requires GRIB data for global wind and temperature aloft data.  The DATMAS system does not support this new Internet interface.

Naviair approached GWDI about implementing a GRIB data collection system for the DATMAS system.  The GRIB system will be hosted on a pair of Intel-based computer servers running the Linux OS.
